environmental considerations for closure. BGC participated in numerous
planning sessions, scoping studies of options and alternatives,
cost-estimating of options and risk assessments regarding dams, tailings,
diversion channels and waste dumps. Provided detailed assessment of rock
drain hydraulic design and stability undertaken. Also undertook the design,
permitting and implementation of the controlled breach and decommissioning
of a water retention dam at the Faro site. This dam breaching project was
only the second such project undertaken in
Canada
to-date.
